Here’s my dare for you: 🔥

If you write for your business — emails, blogs, social media, whatever — for the next email or post, I dare you to write something that has NOTHING to do with your business.*

No hook. No segue. No angle.

Just write about something you want to write about.

Why?

You don’t need a reason to, but if it helps:

  1. It’s a fun break for your audience. Readers appreciate a good pattern interrupter, an authentic peek behind the curtain, or simply a moment of entertainment.
  2. It’ll loosen you up. With less pressure around the “how,” you’ll sound more like you. This creates space for your naturally magnetic voice to emerge and for creative ideas to breathe.
  3. It will train you to write for connection, not solely for persuasion. Which, ironically, may improve your ability to write stuff that sells. (See #2)

To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with sales and CTAs.

Just read my last email.

But it’s okay to write for joy, connection, expression, or simply to shake things up in your content writing routine.

(If you’re feeling uninspired, your readers feel it, too.)

So, Reader, do you accept my dare??

If you do, hit reply and say, “DARE ACCEPTED!”

Then, scroll to the very end of this email for a DOUBLE dare.
