Back then, I thought I had to blow the audience’s mind, share a story that could only be heard on Dateline, or teach a foolproof solution that worked for everyone (and their grandmother).
What I realized…?
Trying to be “interesting,” “groundbreaking,” or “the answer to everyone’s problem” actually had the opposite effect.
Instead of taking steps to reach more people, I’d:
>> Avoid pitching the podcasts I genuinely admired
>> Convince myself I didn’t “know enough” to teach the topics I cared about
>> Talk myself out of collaborations that could’ve been both impactful and fun
