5 ideas

Hi Reader,

I’m just coming back from a trip back home to Alaska (yes, I was there for the earthquake), and getting ready to take a two-week staycation to celebrate the first holiday season living together with my partner. (If you want to see how we decorated our tiny apartment for Chrismukkah, hit reply. πŸ˜‰)

Less exciting, I returned home to a letter that I am being audited next week by the Colorado Division of Unemployment Insurance. It’s standard because I’m an S-corp, but it added another thing to my already growing to-do list.

Realization: I’m pretty terrible at estimating the time it actually takes to run a business – like email catch-up, ensuring all my digital files are easy to find, building in transition time between meetings, and - of course - unexpected audits.

But here's how I'm framing it:

2026 will be a "6" year for me in numerology, which corresponds to The Lovers in Tarot*. It's a nudge to bring harmony, balance, and values-aligned choices to my business. And I'm going to start small this month.

Here are 5 ideas to help you feel more harmony in your business, too:

  1. Track your time. I love Toggl, but really, any time tracking tool will do. Look at where your time is actually going.
  2. Get caught up on any bookkeeping, accounting, or financial tasks. Money = energy. This will help you feel lighter going into 2026.
  3. Send a thank you to your top referral sources or business besties. It can be a card, or even a gift that they can choose. (I have been researching Sugarwish and Gifts for Good.)
  4. Create one gentle business ritual. This can be lighting a candle before you check email, pulling a tarot card for your week, or doing 10 minutes of mindful planning at the end of the day.
  5. Do a digital declutter. Delete your trash folder, sort anything in your download file that needs a home, or organize your Google Drive. I prefer in sprints of 5-10 mins when I’m watching terrible holiday movies. (The latest: Mistletoe Mixup 🫣)

Please reply and tell me which one you’re gonna do.

I’d love for us both to have a more harmonious relationship with our businesses as we go into 2026. πŸ’—

P.S. If you’re craving something more reflective or intuitive as the year closes, I opened a few spots this month for end-of-year Tarot Readings. These are perfect for integrating the past year and setting intentions for 2026. Here's a direct link to my calendar to save your spot.

P.P.S. *Curious about your 2026 tarot card of the year? Add together the single digits of your birth month + birth day + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6, then keep reducing until you land on a number under 23. That number corresponds to a Major Arcana card. (A quick search will tell you which one). Learn how to work with your Tarot Card of the Year.
