🎧 Human First: Navigating AI as Creative Spirits

Happy Monday, Reader,

I'm sharing my latest interview as a recurring guest on Your Creative & Magical Life Podcast with Cecily Sailer.

In this episode, we weigh AI’s promise against its costs through a creative, mystical lens, stepping into the messy, practical reality of how we actually use AI.

  • We look at the shaky economics behind the AI industry, the push to automate labor, and the imperative to use AI everywhere and expand its relevance.
  • We go deeper into the tradeoffs no one wants to talk about β€” the environmental costs of data centers and local fights around water and power.
  • As writers and readers, we also name why AI copy often feels hollow, and human words carry a warmth that can’t be faked.
  • We explore how AI can help neurodivergent folks with executive dysfunction or bridging communication when thoughts are jumbled.

Then, the best part? We consulted the Tarot to ask questions of AI, and the cards we pulled were so fascinating!

An interesting shift since this recording...

I've noticed my AI usage has decreased since this conversation was recorded in early November.

Being in dialogue with Cecily helped me consider how I'm using AI and what is truly essential, which I suspect will be a continual practice as AI expands into more facets of life.

Plus, I took a break from all social media in December (and haven't decided how I want to return 😬), which allowed for a deeper reset in how I engage with tech.

2025 was definitely a "breakthrough year" for AI, and it'll be interesting to see what develops in 2026.

If you want to share how you're using and experiencing AI, please "reply" to let me know.

Warmly,

Ari 🩡

P.S. Amelia Hruby of Off The Grid invited me on the pod to share the story behind Therapist Chillout, a low-key networking series I’ve been hosting since 2023, and how to make IRL events work for you and your business.

This episode was included in Off The Grid’s 2026 Creative Marketing ToolKit. Explore all the episodes to set your creative business up for success without social media.
