My partner isn't even jealous of this kitchenware affair since she benefits from the yummy concoctions each week. (The latest: a seasonal quinoa soup.)
In truth, this Dutch oven has become my cauldron. 🧙🏼
I listen to witchy/astrology podcasts while I chop carrots and let my brain empty out.
I choose ingredients based on feel and intuition, taste-test spices to my liking, and allow myself to be immersed in the magic of the moment.
I fall away from the structured, linear ways of the world.
It's a sacred tool that blends the material with the ethereal.
Plus, when my hands are wet from washing vegetables, I can't check my phone or be concerned with work emails.
It's wonderfully, wildly freeing.
When you're in a creative rut, hustle culture tells you to try harder and push through it.
You just have "mindset issues." (Which, conveniently, they will solve for 5 easy payments of $299.)
That type of pressure is not supportive to a sensitive or neurodivergent brain or anyone who has experienced trauma. (Which, who hasn't at this point?)
If you're feeling stuck and overwhelmed with writing copy, it might be time to step away.
Not forever, but just for a moment.
To take a stroll without your phone, bust into spontaneous dance, or play hide and seek with your dog.
To disconnect for as long as you need—so you can reconnect with what you love.
So, what's your "cauldron," Reader?
What's an everyday tool or practice that opens a portal to your purest experience of self? ✨
P.P.S. Part of what is supporting me in embracing an experiential way of living is my friend Annie Robershaw's Moon Circles. They are intimate spaces for childfree folks to gather and tap into their seasonal rhythm. Learn more here.
